This place is so outdated. That really doesn't bother me but it could be a lot cleaner and the breakfast is terrible. They put out a little bit of eggs, sausage and pancakes (burnt and cold and no refills, just put them out one time and that's it). Bananas were almost done for and had to beg for coffee because breakfast was over in 35 minutes the first time. The management is really nice and they helped out when both the hotel keys wouldn't work and a second set wouldn't work in the middle of the night. The front desk clerk came down and tried a third set then got a emergency key and got the problem fixed quickly, we had no problem after that. Also, they were nice when we accidentally booked a 2 twin beds instead of a king. The pool is decent but not cold because it is outdoor in South GA during the summer I guess. The room smelled okay but the hallway smelled strongly of smoke. The linens were clean but the chair and floor was badly stained.
We came into town for the Willene Todd Memorial Rodeo & had originally booked 2 rooms somewhere else in town. Turned out they had bugs so needless to say we had limited options as it's a small town. 12:30am The room said nonsmoking but reeked of cigarettes. It was so hot in the room & took over an hour to cool down. Right off the rip the bedspreads were stained/dirty. We removed them & the sheets appeared to be clean. I was too tired to drive home so we made due but will not be a returning customer.
I went across the street to the Days Inn as they appeared descent on the outside. I checked into the room. Went to get the kids and we went upstairs to the room. My relative came up to visit and we sat on the bed and I started to immediately get bitten on the legs. He stated that the room felt like a sauna and I explained that we just walked in and the a/c was on, it wasn’t working. I kept getting bit and hit my arm and hit something (flea). I told my girls let’s go. I went downstairs to tell Conrad that we were leaving and why. He stated that he couldn’t give me a refund and it would have to be Management and to call them in the morning.
Evacuated for hurricane Irma was reason for trip. Lobby clean, receptionist ok. Non smoking room smelled smoky otherwise big spacious room. Bed and pillows comfortable.
I called the next day and spoke with a woman with a heavy accent. I explained to her that I needed to speak to the manager and why. She said the manager didn’t work on the weekends and then said he was out of the country. I told her that I am requesting a refund as we left and did not stay in the room and I was going to report them. She proceeded to yell on the phone and said that “I didn’t want to rent the room to you in the first place”. And why is that, because I am an African American. Rather than you all refunding me my money you deducted it twice from my account. I have disputed the charges, have photos of the bites, and am reporting them to the local County Health Dept. Something has to be done when things such as this happen. The hotels need to be held to higher standards when receiving funds from patrons.
I will not even give this hotel a star. First and foremost I went to the hotel after checking out of the hotel across the street after it clearly had not been cleaned as it had feces in the toilet and a overflowing stool with unmade beds.
Very nice clean room comfortable bed, nice little breakfast. Staff are very cordial.
